Coral Ridge: The Best of Both Worlds

I just bought a home in Coral Ridge Country Club Estates because I honestly believe this neighborhood offers the best of both worlds. It is unique because you can live on the water, but play golf or tennis minutes away at Coral Ridge Country Club.

Coral Ridge is centrally located in east Fort Lauderdale along Bayview Drive. Many of the homes – built in the 50’s – line the intracoastal waterway and its canals. But this neighborhood is not old school. It is progressive. It is modern. It is home to many young families.

The beauty of living here is that you can have many different lifestyles within a matter of minutes. You are about 10 minutes from downtown Fort Lauderdale and the nightlife of Las Olas Boulevard or you are 5 minutes from Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and its quaint beachside festivals and family-oriented restaurants and shops.

Coral Ridge Country Club, which is a private club, is also right around the corner. It offers golf, tennis and lots of activities for families. And here’s a little known fact: the swimming pool scene in the classic 1980 movie Caddyshack was shot at Coral Ridge Country Club.

If you are boater – Coral Ridge is situated about halfway between the Hillsboro and Port Everglades inlets. But waterfront dining is just minutes away. All of the restaurants and sports bars on the Fort Lauderdale intracoastal are very close.

But probably the best thing about Coral Ridge and what many people don’t know – is that it is still one of the best values on the water in South Florida. Homes on the intracoastal start at under $1,000,000 with luxury estates in the $3,000,000 – $4,000,000 range.

Coral Ridge may be the most perfect neighborhood for couples who are looking to live the South Florida lifestyle but still have that family atmosphere. And that is why I now call it home.
